Equipped for the Valley
Reading for the Day
“Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; the early rain also fills [the pools] with blessings.”
We all have low seasons in our lives. Those times, when nothing seems to be happening or worse, when bad things come our way. How do you get equipped for those valleys in your life? By building up your trust and relationships with God in the high seasons.
Most people tend to turn to God, when things do not look so good in their lives. However, the key is to learn to turn to God, when everything is just perfect in your life. Those high times may draw us away from God, as we do not seem to need Him so badly, as in the low times.
If you can keep your faith up in God during good seasons of your life, you can get yourself fully equipped for the valley. This way, you will not only come through it, but you will turn your valley of weeping into the valley of blessing and joy. You would have not just enough strength to hold on, but to get up and change things for better.
However, it all starts in your private prayer room during the good times of your life. Do not close that room and forsake it, waiting for low season to come. Work on your relationships with God, build them up and stay strong and dependent on Him.
Prayer suggestion: Ask the Lord to speak to your heart in all times: good and bad. Ask Him to teach you to trust your life to Him, when things go well for you. Then, you won’t have to go through a crash course in trust, once you hit the valley.
