God I Trust You
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.”
Trust is earned. We give those in our lives a chance to become close to us on a daily basis. At times, friends and family can hurt us deeply, breaking that trust. Repairing it can take a long time.
With God, you don’t have to worry about trust issues. He is going to be the same today as He was yesterday and as He will be until the end of time. Putting your trust in Him helps when people you love let you down even if it is not on purpose.
The world, itself, is not a friendly place. Maybe past hurts have caused you not to trust others, even those who prove trustworthy. The scriptures above teach us that no matter what happens, you don’t have to be afraid to live your life as God wants you to. He will champion your cause every time.
It is a fact that you will encounter difficulties in life. Some will be because of your own actions and others will be undeserved. There is no getting around the latter. But, God says that if you are under His protection, these “potential” difficulties don’t have to worry you or steal your joy.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, teach me to place my trust in You to live my life in freedom and not fear of the unknown.
