God What Do I Need to Change About Me Today?

Reading for the day: Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11 Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.

King David knew when he had displeased the Lord. His first act was to repent and ask God to change his heart. Maybe you are like King David today.

Repentance and change are not one-time acts. As long as you live in a fallen world, repentance is needed to keep us shining for Christ. It is easy for our stars to get tarnished especially when we decide that our way is better than God’s choice for us. It will happen from time to time because we are human.

The great thing about God is that He is always ready to forgive when we come to Him in heartfelt repentance. But, repentance has to be followed by a change to be genuine. To do that, you have to recognize within yourself that living in bondage (a slave to your sinful nature) is worse than living in freedom through Christ.

Each day brings a new opportunity to “renew your mind.” Change the way you think and act by staying connected to God and in tune with the Holy Spirit. Is God asking you to change some aspect of your life? If so, get to it. The rewards will far outweigh anything you would get by holding on to sin.

Prayer Suggestion: Lord, reveal to me any hidden sin in my life. Help me to obey and not fight as you work to wash me clean.

    Hi there.
I am a christian by faith but have been very weak & feel that i have let God down many times.

    This is what happaned.
About 5 years ago i was impregnated by a guy that removed the condom while we were busy without my knowledge. He was my BF at the time (we lasted 2 months togetehr) but i was an emotional wreck as i had just come out of a long term relationship in which the BF cheated on me & made the lady pregnant. I really went out of control.
So when i found out i was pregnant i terminated the preganancy & this was at 3 weeks. Was given pills at a clinic & then menstruated.
I kept this to myself for a long time & didn’t regret this decision. I have prayed to God about this & asked God for his forgiveness for all that i did during that period.
I have mended my ways & am serving God. I met my fiancee almost 3 years ago and we have a beautiful son together. I have shared most of the things i did in the past with , but i didn’t tell him about the pregnancy & subsequent termination. He is a wonderful man & i trully love him & would not hurt him. He loves me very much also. I have this feeling that i have to tell him this but in the same breath ask myself how do i do this without being judged? I have prayed about this for a very long time and feel that God has forgiven me. Should i tell & if i should why? Isn’t God’s judgement & forgiveness greater than all?
    Please help me.
I have doing everything else right according to God’s will & teachings , this was my point of weakness. What do i do?
