Live to Be a Blessing to Others
Reading for the day: Romans 12:1-2
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
The book of Romans is like an instructional guide for daily living. Chapter 12 shows us many attributes of a true Christian. Part of being a follower of Christ is living well with your fellow man.
Some people wonder why they have to help others who don’t seem willing to help themselves. There is a type of logic here but not God’s logic. When you love God, you must exchange the world’s logic for His. To God, is a broken vessel waiting to be mended and filled. Giving your life to God allows Him to reveal to you which vessels He needs your help to mend.
Think about it: If someone didn’t pray for you or help you through obedience to God, you wouldn’t know Him today. When you live God’s purpose for your life, you are in essence, being a blessing to others. Through you others can see God’s love and recognize who they are in Christ.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me to help those you place in my path. Exchange their hopelessness for a life worth living through You.
