When a woman is diagnosed with cancer, life is never the same again. If you have recently been told you have breast cancer, you will feel a variety of emotions such as fear, panic, depression, anger, and despair. It is natural to feel such emotions, but it is important at this time to realize that your life is not over. The key to fighting and defeating breast cancer is to live with hope, inspiration, and faith.

“Listen to me ! You can pray for anything and if you believe you will have it.”
– Mark 11:24

Take Control

Although breast cancer has forced its way into your life, you can take control of your life instead of letting cancer take control of you. Go to your doctor and ask what you can do to beat this disease. As well, go online and do research about new drugs and procedures emerging. Create a plan to take on cancer. It is vital that you are part of the decision making process regarding your health and well being.

Support System

It is important that you do not fight this battle on your own. It is essential that you have a strong support system that will be there with you on your journey. This can include your family, friends, online breast cancer support group, and traditional breast cancer support groups. Buy books written by women who have defeated cancer and are living happy lives. It will be a source of inspiration during the times you feel like giving up.

Live with Hope

It is important to maintain hope for your recovery. Maintaining hope and making positive changes in your life will help alleviate the symptoms and keep you focused on defeating the cancer. For instance, do things that make you laugh and feel good such as spending time with family and friends. Exercise daily and meditate to find your inner peace. Implement an anticancer diet. The more things you do to fight the disease, the more hope you will have that you will beat it. It is important to do things to reduce your stress, anxiety, and build your self confidence. You need to strengthen your ‘will’ to live.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.”
— Isaiah 40:31

 Keep the Faith

Maintaining a strong spiritual awareness will help you keep focused on your recovery. It is important to count your blessings such as your family and friends. Think about all of the things in your life of which you feel grateful. Develop a close relationship with God. Praying is a very therapeutic spiritual experience as it gives you the strength to continue the fight as well as help you develop an inner peace and acceptance. It helps you grow your mind and spirit. The positive energy you create will give you the energy to fight the disease while maintaining a sense of peace. Engaging in spiritual activities will help you feel more hopeful.

”Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit; Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like an eagle.” Psalms 103:1-5

Live with Inspiration

Set goals for yourself. They do not have to be big goals. Take a nature walk and breathe in the beauty around you. Read inspirational books to learn how others succeeded in overcoming life’s biggest obstacles. Focus on how you will deal with the cancer, not why you got the cancer. It is important to accept your condition so that you can move forward in life. Read books or talk to a counselor or spiritual adviser on developing coping strategies that will help you get through the most difficult times.

Breast cancer affects each woman differently so it is important to develop a life strategy that meets your needs spiritually, emotionally, and physically, and provides the most help to ensuring you stay positive and focused. Improving your outlook on life by implementing the above tips can really make a positive difference. Maintaining love for yourself and others and appreciating the good things in your life will go a long way in helping you win the battle against breast cancer. When fighting breast cancer, live with hope, inspiration, and faith.

“For nothing will be impossible with God”
– Luke 1:37
