Reading for the Day: Galatians 6:10

“Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”

Prayer is the most powerful thing that you can do for someone. Many think it is a passive act that we engage in when we don’t know what else to do. On the contrary, our words have power and life when they reach God’s ears.

Have you ever experienced the difference between praying first and praying when you are at the end of your rope? In one case you start and end the right way and in the other situation you find a measure of peace after being frazzled.

Going to God in prayer for someone in need opens the floodgates of Heaven. As a child of God, He listens attentively to your words. That person couldn’t be in better hands than yours at that moment. You have turned their life over to God for His divine intervention. And, He will do just that.

But, there is more than one way to be in need. Even our enemies are in need. We don’t often think of it that way because they are hurting us. the Bible says to pray for those who persecute and use you. it is not to bring the wrath of God down on them but the love of God.

Your sincere prayers at that time could change their lives forever. Like Saul, they could have a “Damascus road experience” and find salvation. That is a true testament to the power of your prayers in the lives of others. Instead of another lost soul, you will have gained a brother or sister in the faith.

Prayer Suggestions: Lord, help me to see that we all need you, even those who don’t treat me well.
