The Power of Kindness – The God Principle

Reading for the day: Luke 6:37-38

“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

The world is desperately in need of a new way of thinking. Often the Word of God is perverted with such sayings as “do unto others before they can do unto you.” the mentality of some is to do whatever it takes to reach the top. You can ask the ones who have been jailed for criminal schemes how it works for them now.

Why is kindness and grace withheld from others when God has been so generous? Maybe you have been hurt by someone at some point. The human response would be to mistrust others. Jesus was treated badly but he still prayed for his offenders.

The God Principle is contrary to anything that the world is teaching. With the God Principle, gaining favor in your life is dependent on what you do for others. See, most people give that same look when they hear it. Jesus, the Son of God, took off his tunic and washed the feet of his disciples. A foot washing was thought to be menial work. Jesus saw it as serving others and therefore serving God.

God wants us to share what He has done for us with others. Every time we extend a helping hand to someone, whether they deserve it or not in our minds, God is honored and a life is changed. Because you are being obedient, God will bless your life in untold ways. Kindness has its privileges.

Prayer Suggestion: Ask God to put people in your path today who need to see Jesus.
