God Says You Got What It Takes

Reading for the Day: Philippians 4:12-13

“I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

In life, you will have days that you feel unsure of yourself. It could be the fear of failure or even the fear of success. You don’t know if you have what it takes to do the job before you. Because we are human beings, this kind of thought pattern creeps into our daily living for Christ.

Even when God gives us something to do, we quietly question His logic in our minds. But you are not the first. Moses did the same thing. He stuttered when He spoke and questioned God at the burning bush for choosing Him to lead Israel out of captivity in Egypt.

Gideon questioned God’s choice when he was asked to fight the Midianites. He remarked that he was the least of his house in the smallest tribe of the twelve (Manasseh). That sounds like some of us.

It may be natural to doubt, but God comes prepared. He gives us one thing that makes all the difference – the Holy Spirit. He works from the outside in to prepare us for what God wants us to do. No matter what God places before you, you have what it takes to overcome the circumstances.

Prayer Suggestions: Take His strength as your own. Ask Him to protect your mind from negative thoughts that stop you from achieving His goals and reaping the bountiful blessings.

Christian Youth – God Understands You

Christian youth, our God is a loving and merciful God. The things that you are going through may seem so much bigger than you, but God is bigger still. God understands everything about you. He understands what you are going through. God understands how you feel and He understands the things that are going on in your head. And God believes in you. He believes that you will fulfill all of the things that He has destined you to fulfill. God believes that you will overcome the obstacles in your life. These obstacles have been created in the world by sin. Sin broke unlimited man’s fellowship with God. Jesus gave that fellowship back to us and with it comes the ability to live victoriously. God has a plan for you to live victoriously and God believes that you will jump into the fullness of your destiny.

“The Lord will guide you continually.”

–Isaiah 58:11

Do not let people make you think that Christian living is “un-cool”, because it is not. God loves you and wants to have a close, intimate relationship with you. If you feel like no one else understands you and that know one else believes in you, then know that God understands you and He believes in you. He will never leave you or forsake you. God planned your destiny before you were even born. Your destiny is God’s successful plan for your life. God understands what you are going through and what you are feeling. He even understands how discouraged you can get. But, He gave you a way out of that discouragement. He has hope for you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will direct your paths. Lean on God, call out to God and He will answer you. God loves you so much.

“Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid or dismayed”.

– 1 Chronicles 22:13

You are a Christian youth and that means that you have chosen to live for God, according to the Bible. You may not be able to do the things that you see other youth do, but God understands your feelings. He has given you the grace to be able to live for him. The Bible says that nothing can separate you from God’s love. No matter what you have done or where you have been, God will always accept you with his arms wide open. God understands. He wants to be your best friend. Gods love is unconditional. He will always love you no matter what you do. Go to God and tell Him that you love Him and ask Him to help you live for Him.

Know that God understands you. He understands your strengths and your flaws, and He has given you the strength to withstand temptation. No matter what you do God will always understand and love you. God made you. The Bible says that God formed you when in the womb and that he knew you even then. There is no one else who can love you more than God. Be encouraged and walk in the promises that God has for you. No matter what obstacles come your way: God believes in your ability to overcome and He loves you.

“Remember , I am with you always , to the end of the age”.

Matthew 28:20

………

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.”

–Jeremiah 17:7

How to Reach Your Potential

“ Your belief , obedience and faith in God can produce any future you want in life”

It’s natural to want to achieve success in life.  Although we can glory in what is promised for our future in God’s eternal life, we do have to live in this world for a time, and it is human nature to want our lives in the here and now to be pleasant.  Does the Bible have anything to say about achieving goals and reaching our true potential in life?  Yes!

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou have good success.”

– Joshua 1:8

The above passage is telling you what you need to do to reach your full potential – you must take the time to learn and apply the teachings of the Lord.  Only this will lead to success in your life.  Jesus’ teachings also allude to how our way of life can help us achieve our potential.  He and His disciples remind us in the New Testament that faith in God will help us to become great.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:33

Why does God want us to prosper?  Because He is the one that created each and every one of us, and within us He planted the seed of potential.  This divine gift from God has been entrusted to us.  We must care for it so that we can help it grow and thrive in this world, nourished by God’s word and basking in the light of His love.

You are special – a child of God!  Don’t we always want what is best for our children?  How much more does God want for His children whom He loves?  By honoring and obeying our heavenly Father, we gain insight and guidance that will lead us to achieve our potential, which makes our God exalt in our successes.

Of course, God does allow us to face adversity, both personal and financial, in order to help us to grow strong and faithful.  From our trials we learn valuable lessons.  The end result is that we become stronger, more faithful children who are able and worthy of success.  If we did not learn, we would squander our potential.

God watches over us, protects us, and expects us to have worthy goals.  We can ask Him to help us achieve what we want, but only if we know what we want – what our goals are. God will bless us with what we desire if we focus on our goals and look at them through the lens of His love, praying specifically for His help in pursuing our goals.

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, he shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

-   John 15:7

In order to “ask what we will,” we must have goals so that we know what to ask for.  If we follow His laws and ask in full awareness of what are goals should be, God will give us whatever it takes to reach our full potential!

Continue to strive to reach your potential, keeping in mind, “I am a child of God, blessed with unlimited talents and abilities.  Through Him, I will reach my potential and become a successful child of the Lord.”
